CMC Alumni of USA Award 2023 Winner

On the occasion of the 8th Triennial Global Reunion, Chittagong Medical College Alumni of USA recognizes Professor (Dr.) Mohammad Abul Faiz, CMC 15 for excellence as a clinical educator and researcher.

Professor Faiz had an unparalleled career in medical education in Bangladesh. He served Chittagong Medical College as an Assistant and Associate Professor before becoming a professor of medicine and Principal of Dhaka Medical College. In the last act of his career, Professor Faiz served as the Director General of national health service.

The lasting role of Professor Faiz is his pioneering of snake bite research and his war against snake bite death in Bangladesh. He raised awareness, trained thousands of physicians throughout his lifetime in handling snakebite death and made antivenom available even at rural level. He is the author of Bangladesh snake bite guideline and WHO global snakebite guideline.
